This summer, I worked for my Exhibit Design professor, Paul Nowicki. Paul has been in model-making for over 30 years and worked with names such as Disney, Hasbro or Mattel. His company, Graphic Blade Studio, makes models for commercials, architects, collectors and more.

I had the privilege of working on a Godzilla scene for Kirk Hammett. Everything in his studio is made by hand. I saw the opportunity to automate tasks, such as cutting out 100 tiny windows with a laser-cutter. There is still a lot of detailed handwork left, but the machine can do the repetitive things.
